Should You Upgrade to Vista?
Windows Vista:
Vista is the brand new operating
system to replace XP. It has highly upgraded graphics on
the Premium, Business and Ultimate Versions. You are able
to install Vista in an XP/Vista dual boot system to test the new
operating system. In my 3 months of using Vista, the
experience has been positive after a few hardware upgrades.
Many older computers either cannot run
Vista or will run Vista very slowly.
-
A new video card and or sound
card may be
needed.
-
More memory is required. (1
to 2 Gig) Although Memory prices have dropped considerably
in the last 3 months

Conclusion: Vista is stable and
enjoyable and is the future. However, you do not have to
upgrade any time soon. XP is sufficient for all computing
needs today.
Should I upgrade to Office/Access 2007?
Access 2007:
-
The interface and menu system is
powerful but can be
confusing at first.
-
Certain extra Access setup
steps need to be taken to run Auction Express XT on Access
2007.
-
The new 3.2 version of Auction Express XT
program is fully running and might not be able to be
migrated back to 2003 and earlier Access versions.
Conclusion: Auction Express
XT version 3.2 is ready for Access 2007. The upgrade price
from 2.8x and up is $65. Since there is no distinct
advantage to use Access 2007 for Auction Express XT. I
recommend staying with your old Access versions 2000-2003.
IMPORTANT...Access 2000, 2002 or
2003 on the same pc with 2007 is problematic. Backup and
uninstall the older versions of Access before installing Access
2007.
